How It Works

Getting legally married doesn’t have to be complicated. I’ve made the process simple, stress-free, and personal—complete with a few laughs along the way, because getting married should be a moment to enjoy!

Here’s how it all works:

Step 1: Get in Touch

Reach out to check availability and ask any questions. No sales pitch and no pressure. We’ll go through the basics and lock in a date for your wedding if this is right for you.

Step 2: Complete the Paperwork

To get married in Australia, you need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before your wedding day. We will complete this together and I will handle the submission of it all.

You’ll also need to provide valid ID (passport or birth certificate + driver’s licence).

Step 3: Choose a Location

Your wedding can take place anywhere private and comfortable—your home, a café, a park – you pick! Travel within 20 km of Brisbane CBD is included, but if you need me to come further, we can arrange that for a small travel fee.

Step 4: Get Married! 🎉

On the day, I’ll guide you through the simple legal vows, and we’ll sign the paperwork. It’s quick, relaxed, and completely personal. Want to add your own vows? Go for it! Prefer to keep it short and sweet? That works too. You can also have a few friends or family members there if you like.

Step 5: Paperwork Lodged

After your ceremony, I’ll submit all the required documents to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages to make it all official.

Step 6: Receive Your Official Marriage Certificate

On the day, you’ll receive a commemorative wedding certificate as a keepsake. The official marriage certificate can be ordered from the Registry Office about 2 weeks after the ceremony date.

The Timeline

📅 At least 1 month before – We complete your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)
📍 Pick a location – Somewhere private and comfortable
📝 On the day – Say the vows, sign the paperwork, and get married!
📩 After the wedding – I submit everything to the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages
📜 About 2 weeks later – Your official marriage certificate is available to order from the Registry of Birth, Deaths and Marriages  in the state your marriage took place.
